About this deal

Samsung's advanced AI Upscaling technology uses multiple neural networks to automatically learn scene-by-scene and optimise your content. As with the other Samsung Neo QLED TVs we’ve tested recently, the 50QN90A’s mini LED lighting is a revelation when it comes to the sort of contrast we can expect from an LCD TV. Now we’re on the subject of gaming, all four of the QN95C’s HDMIs support the latest gaming features of 4K/120Hz, VRR (including AMD Freesync Premium Pro), and ALLM.

Custom allows for manually setting De-Blur and De-Judder settings as well as fiddling with noise reduction. De-Blur and De-Judder are set to 10 and 3, but to my eye there’s no difference between having this option on or off. If there is an effect then it’s very slight. Regardless, the QN94A has the same depth as the QN95A model that comes with the external One Connect box. In the past, the One Connect box indicated the TV was slimmer than its similarly attired cousins. While that’s not the case here, the One Connect box does bring meaningful differences that I’ll get to later on. That isn’t to say, though, that the issue has completely gone away; Samsung’s hatred of haloing still means that even smaller light halos cannot be tolerated, meaning small bright picture highlights can still take a brightness hit that denies them the sort of intensity and local contrast dynamism they would enjoy on a self-emissive OLED screen. It’s still a big relief to find this issue appearing less commonly than it did on 2022’s equivalent model, though. Switch to 1917 and the vibrancy is tempered by a slightly unexpected degree of naturalism. Some TVs we’ve reviewed have, in their quest for vibrancy, pushed the green fields at the film’s start from verdant to lurid, but the QN95A doesn’t fall into this trap and the film is delivered with both punch and poise. For sharpness and detail, the Q90T is also among the best in class. It produces a more solid, deep and three-dimensional image than even the Philips OLED805. But, on occasion, the Samsung’s colours also look a little exaggerated. It certainly skews a little more red than is truly neutral and, while that makes for a pleasant balance most of the time, skin tones can occasionally look just a touch off. Ana Stelline’s face, when lit up by the birthday cake, is a perfect example. The Gaming Hub section has become increasingly useful this year, meanwhile, as a home for both connected and streaming game sources.

The Super UltraWide Game View stretches the image to either 21:9 and 32:9 screen ratios and is only possible when a PC/laptop is connected. And you’d also need to be sitting fairly close to the screen for the required effect.Ergonomics Information about the ergonomic functions - height adjustment, swivel angles, tilt angles, etc. VESA mount
