The highs are very clear and distinct. The mid-range is a little more than I care for when playing them the flat frequency, but that is what the EQ is for and corrects nicely for anyone’s preference. One important thing to consider: this is a system designed for computer use, so the quality of your computer’s sound card may affect the quality of the sound coming out of the Klipsch speakers. Most notably, the high treble sounds much fuller on the Klipsch, thanks in no small part to the separate tweeter. The mids are also a bit richer sounding, making them a better fit for movies and music than the Z623. Klipsch recommends that you set your computer’s system volume to 70% and control the level of sound through the knob on the right satellite. That helps create the best sound. You then tweak the subwoofer level until you achieve the right balance for your room and ears. There aren’t any other adjustments you can make to the sound from the speakers. Overall, both the Logitech Z623 and the ProMedia 2.1 feature a tight and precise bass that has some genuine texture to it, instead of just a loud rumbling. The bass on the ProMedia 2.1 is slightly tighter and can go all the way down to 31 Hz as opposed to the Z623’s 35 Hz, but these are only minor differences.

Overall, this system punches well above its weight. You can't get a better 2.1 system at this price point, and any 2.9 powered speaker system in this range wont give you that sub-bass. The LFE goes down to 31kh, while most 2.0 systems will be at about 80 kh. That is actually better than my Polk subwoofer, which rolls off below 40hz. The Genius 3-way does dip down to 20khz, but there are questions about build quality and quality control, as well as an underpowered max decibel level. Also the Genius is 15" tall, which takesup a lot of desktop real estate and may be too tall for some booksheleves. First up is the Logitech Z623. Of the two speakers, this is the one that will cater more to gamers because it has a very three-dimensional sound. The rectangle satellites on the Klipsch are a bit more conspicuous with their metal legs, but while the triangular satellites on the Logitech only use rubberized stands to provide that extra layer of stability, their shape does draw a bit more attention, so it all evens out.

The ported subwoofer has optimal power to give it that “oomph” factor. This way, you can feel every bass and beat drop of the music. Right off the bat, we’ll say that neither of these speakers sounds any worse than most newer ones and even many pricier models. You can’t go wrong with either one. One other point of clarity is around exactly which system you’ll receive. The pictures are not current, and you’ll actually receive the THX certified version of the system. The compact satellites were showing absolutely not harshness in the treble region, but paid acoustic reference to their horn tweeters. The sound was homogeneous and as if was coming from a single source, giving retro lovers some sort of full-range driver feeling. Yes, you can’t deny a certain tendency to retro sound in the set, as they were rather stingy with shiny treble and airiness. Lots of room, lots of soundi had the older ProMedia 2.1s, which are 10w x2 + 80w subwoofer. That was a great little system, with plenty of boom. It supplied those sub-hass frequencies most 2.0 systems simply can't. The build quality of those speakers was superb. The sound quality was pretty great too considering the size of the speakers. The biggest issue with those was that the bass could overwhelm the mids and treble quite easily. There was also a bit of static when adjusting the volume. Unfortunately, I blew the subwoofer while testing out a new DAC, by using the input which also serves as a preamp. whoops. When I received the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 PC speaker, I was so pleased. These are very well built. Hook-up was easy. The sound is fantastic. Computer speaker that has good bass and has a very low-frequency response. You then connect the wired 3.5 mm input cable to your computer’s headphone output. There’s another 3.5 mm input on the side. But if your audio source doesn’t have a way to output sound through a 3.5 mm port (or through an adapter to 3.5 mm), the ProMedia 2.1 isn’t for you.
