If you are not dabbing at your eyes (or at least seeing through some mist) as the end credits roll, then the fault may just lie within your cynical self. Men Like Dogs, Women Like Cats: Officially, Shadow and Chance belong to Peter and Jamie, respectively, while Sassy belongs to Hope. At the beginning of the movie, the kids generally accept each other's pets, but Chance is relatively new to the family, and he doesn't exactly score points with Hope for launching Sassy into the sandbox.
